Medical Education in the Czech Republic 2027/2028 Academic Year ( Free )

The Czech Republic has a well-established and internationally recognised medical education system and offers a range of academic opportunities for international students. For the 2027/2028 academic year, the admission process for medical education in the Czech Republic is available within the framework of the StudyHome – European Education Program (EEP).

Medical study programmes are offered in both English and Czech, depending on the selected university and programme.

## Study Model

Within the StudyHome EEP programme framework, students begin their studies with a **one-year Foundation programme** designed to provide the necessary academic and language preparation for further medical education.

### First Year – Foundation Programme

The Foundation programme has a duration of **one academic year**, with a programme tuition fee of €5,700.

The Foundation year is designed to prepare students academically and linguistically for their selected medical study programme and to provide the necessary preparation for progression to the main medical education programme at the next stage.

The programme is available in **English and Czech**, depending on the selected study track and educational requirements.

### Subsequent Years of Study

Following the successful completion of the Foundation programme and fulfilment of the applicable admission and progression requirements, students proceed to the main medical education programme.

Tuition fee for the main years of study: €0

According to the study model offered within the programme, students pay a tuition fee of €5,700 only for the first Foundation year. No tuition fee is applied during the subsequent years of the main medical education programme, subject to the applicable programme conditions.

## Medical Education Opportunities

Within the StudyHome EEP programme framework, students are offered opportunities to pursue medical and healthcare-related studies in the Czech Republic.

Depending on the selected university and programme, applicants may have the opportunity to apply for a range of medical and healthcare fields, including General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Public Health, as well as other related disciplines.

The availability of specific study programmes, admission requirements, and programme structures may vary depending on the selected university and programme.

## Admission Requirements

Admission to medical programmes may take into consideration the applicant’s previous academic performance and academic preparation in relevant subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and other science-related disciplines.

Applicants are generally required to provide a secondary school diploma or equivalent qualification, relevant academic records, a valid passport, and any additional documents required by the selected university or programme.

Depending on the selected study programme, applicants may also be required to demonstrate English language proficiency at B1 or B2 level. The specific language level and other admission requirements are determined according to the requirements of the selected programme and university.

### GPA

There is no single minimum GPA requirement applicable to all medical programmes across the Czech Republic. Applicants’ academic performance is assessed according to the admission criteria established by the selected university and study programme.

During the application process, StudyHome EEP takes into consideration the applicant’s academic performance and the specific requirements of the selected programme.

## StudyHome EEP Programme Quota

Within the framework of the **StudyHome – European Education Program (EEP)**, a dedicated programme quota is offered for medical education in the Czech Republic.

Under the quota framework, the student’s place within the designated study programme is planned in advance, and the admission process is coordinated by StudyHome EEP in accordance with the applicable programme conditions.

### Key Advantages of the Quota

The quota provides students with the opportunity to benefit from the designated medical education programme quota and to have an appropriate place at the selected university allocated in advance within the programme framework.

The €5,700 Foundation programme tuition fee may be paid in three instalments, in accordance with the applicable payment schedule.

The admission process is coordinated by StudyHome EEP. This includes the selection of the study field and language of instruction, preparation and verification of documents, coordination of the application procedure, communication with the respective universities, and monitoring of the stages of the admission process.

Students also receive access to their personal EEP account, where they can review their documents, monitor their payments, and follow relevant information and updates regarding their application and admission process. The system is designed to maintain transparency throughout the payment process.

No additional programme-related costs are applied for the programme support provided within the established quota framework.

### First Year Tuition-Based, Subsequent Years Tuition-Free

Under the programme model, a tuition fee of €5,700 applies to the one-year Foundation programme. Following successful completion of the Foundation year and progression to the main medical education programme, no tuition fees are applied during the subsequent years of study, subject to the applicable programme conditions.

## Accommodation and Student Housing

The Czech Republic offers a range of student accommodation options provided by universities and private accommodation operators. Students may choose from different types of residences depending on their preferred location, room type, and accommodation standards.

Shared and more affordable rooms generally range from approximately €150–€350 per month, while higher-standard accommodation and private rooms may cost approximately €300–€500 or more per month.

Accommodation costs vary depending on the location of the residence, room type, available facilities, and whether utilities and other services are included in the monthly accommodation fee.

## Admission and Quota Provision

Within the medical education quota provided by StudyHome EEP, an appropriate place within the designated study programme is planned in advance for the student, and the admission process is coordinated within the programme framework.

Admission provision is offered to students within the quota established by StudyHome EEP.

This provision applies to students who meet the programme, university, study field, academic, and other admission requirements established by StudyHome EEP.

## Important Note

The €5,700 tuition fee for the Foundation programme and the absence of tuition fees during the subsequent years of study apply specifically to the programme model provided within the StudyHome EEP framework.

Accommodation, living expenses, visa-related costs, insurance, transportation, and other personal expenses are not included in the tuition fee and are the student’s separate financial responsibility.

The available medical study fields, admission requirements, quota places, language of instruction, and programme structure may vary depending on the university and academic year.

Applications for the 2027/2028 academic year are accepted on a limited-quota basis.
